About The Artiste:

Born in 1970 in Uganda; Lee came to England in 1972 when the Idi Amin fiasco occurred. Brought up by parents which loyally remain as best-friend’s; their friendship has become a continual reminder of the stories of Africa and the unromantic facade of events of members of the family, which were in the political arena – giving a vivid understanding about how close to death they all were. Lee’s Father was always the one for passionate stories and his passion extended to painting and drawing through amazing times. Lee's brother, Sam never fails to inspire subjects which they discuss in depth. Art, observation and painting is a part of what they are.

Lee has had some formal education in the past, however, the artiste is presently preparing toward BA (Hons) in Contemporary Fine Art. Lecturing in other subjects brought the artiste to the conclusion that lecturing in Fine Arts and related subjects in a University would be far more suitable than the previous Colleges taught at in the past.  Additionally,  the  artiste  is  a member  of the  AOI  -  The  Association  of  Illustrators...

Voice of the Artist:

I believe that every action has consequences that happen for a reason. Life has taught me that it is never as simple as flipping a coin. When no one believed in me – I never stopped believing in myself.

The natural course throughout life directs experience and pathways which has been married with my perception and understanding of the beauty and nature around us. Although my paintings share a wide variety, which are all inter-related to ‘All That’s Au Natural’ in my vision – it must be understood that it is still a small part of the constituent of the ‘Wonder of the World and all that it constitutes’.

The natural course of my paintings throughout the years to date, takes one through a path of history and deep meaning. There are journeys which undoubtedly will take one through many stories; varying degrees of emotions; actions of people and children; landscapes and individual isolation of fruits that we bear, and flowers that we steal; culture; religion; spirituality and much more.

However, I am quite firm in my belief, thinking laterally of course, that one should not diverse from the basic foundation that all topics mentioned and more is connected strongly to one another. This concept is similar to that of Art and Artists – Each Art is perceived differently from any and each individual, similarly that each Artist perceives and creates work which is portraying their own expression of the object of topic.

Texture, colours and conceptual ideas need to be considered when observing a piece of history…Enjoy...

Brief Biography:

Having some formal education in Art was not the path I intended. Although invaluable lessons have been learnt – the process of progression is far better to pursue so that a better understanding of Art and expression can evolve my tomorrow's paintings. Life is about changes and progression…
